From Terror by Night
The three of them finished cleaning up and left the shop together. They walked to the parking lot were Libby always parked her Jeep. She reached for her keys then stopped dead in her tracks.
"Oh, my dear heaven, what happened?"
Someone had smashed all the windows and slashed all four tires. Her doors were yanked open and the seats had been cut up and the foam filling strewn across the inside.
Libby's keys dropped from her nerveless fingers as fear and anger descended on her. Troy wrapped his arms around her as if he were afraid she would fall down. Tears began to slide down her cheeks and she began to shake.
"Here, sit down." Troy eased her to the concrete. "Gina, call 911."
Libby stared at the ruins of her Jeep. She had driven that thing for nearly ten years, had over 200,000 miles on it and cared for it like a child. Now it was junk.
